Does Holden still have a chance to comply with the MBTA Communities Law?

YES! There is time! Holden has until December 31, 2024, to submit a compliance zoning plan to the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC).

Further, Holden has state-awarded funds to develop a plan to comply and engage the community in discussions on future Holden development.

In September 2023, the town of Holden was awarded a $60,100 state grant to work on zoning changes outlined in the Town of Holden Master Plan that would include a compliance plan for the MBTA Communities Law. Despite this funding, Holden has failed to move forward.
